Is there an alternative method to the manual removal of the SAF Instrument from the RDT3 Head?
- Position the jaws of cotton pliers over the Irrigation Barrel of the SAF Instrument Shank as shown in photo
- Squeeze the pliers until a firm grip is achieved while avoiding damage to the Instrument or the Chuck
- Gently rotate the Instrument side to side until loose from the Chuck, and pull the Instrument straight out of the Chuck
How do I clean the liquid reservoir in the VATEA Unit?
The irrigation liquid reservoir is built into the VATEA Console and is not user-removable. Should you desire to rinse out the reservoir, please use great care to avoid getting any liquid inside the console, and wipe off any irrigant from outside surfaces. Wear protective clothing, eyewear and mask as appropriate.
What is the best method for removing the Irrigation Tube after use?
First, detach the Tubing from the SAF. Avoid accidental dripping of the contents of the Irrigation tube after use as it may contain residual sodium hypochlorite solution. This residual solution will be damaging to surfaces and clothing. We recommend first placing a paper towel under the tubing before disconnection, and then holding the open ends of the Irrigation tube in an upwards direction. Next, drain any residual irrigation solution into a sink or waste disposal as appropriate. Complete the draining of any final residual solution, and then rinse, bag and autoclave the tubing.
Can an SAF Instrument be reused?
SAF instruments and other engine-driven endodontic instruments and files are designed for single use only. We recommend the proper sterilization of SAF instruments before use, then use with a single tooth, and then proper disposal after use.
