The VATEA system is a self-contained, fluid delivery unit intended to be attached to dental handpieces to deliver irrigation during endodontic procedures.
During the endodontic treatment, irrigation solution is pumped from the VATEA's 400 ml reservoir.
The irrigant is delivered via a disposable silicone tube to the endodontic instrument.
The flow of irrigant is toggled using a foot pedal.
The operator can adjust the flow rate from 1-10 ml/min by using the -/+ push buttons located on the control panel.
Large LCD screen and audio notifications are used to indicate flow rate, working time and alerts such as "low battery" and "no liquid".
The device operates on either low voltage (10V) external DC power or an integrated rechargeable battery pack (6V) which accommodates 4 hours of operation when fully charged.
